4Batz (Neko Bennett) is a well-known rapper from Dallas, Texas, who gained recognition for his hit single “date @ 8” on TikTok. He released his first full-length debut studio album on September 12th, 2025, named ‘Still Shinin’. The albums features guest appearances from Leon Thomas, Flo, Maxo Kream and Zillionaire Doe. ‘Still Shinin’ consists of 15 songs and is 38 minutes long. There are three songs that caught my attention while listening to this album, which are, “too dam young,” “n da mornin,” and “let’s press play.”
“too dam young” is the first song that is heard when you listen to this album, and it draws you in completely. The beat comes in with a suspenseful sensation but somehow achieves the emotion of calmness instead of eagerness. After the song catches your attention, 4Batz successfully chimes in with his soothing voice without overpowering the gentle, yet polished beat. Although the song is 1 minute and 7 seconds, it still leaves a lasting impact on your thoughts because he relates to how some women are today. Another personal favorite of mine from the album was “n da mornin.”
“n da mornin” was very relatable and captivating in many ways. The beat introduces various sounds that blend together to form a beautiful symphony. In addition to the beautiful beat, there was 4Batz’s tone and the lyrics in this single. The single discusses love for his significant other in a smooth way because his tone of voice mutually matched the beat. Not only did his voice complement the layered sound, but so did the lyrics that he was pouring into the song. All of these aspects build up an explosion of emotions to be loved by your partner and channels how much you missed the person that you loved (or love in the present). The last song that I was enamored with was “let’s press play.”
“let’s press play” is the one single that I adored the most. At the beginning of the song, the producers created an upbeat layer that was vibrant and crisp. As the song progresses, there is a choir whose voices create this sweet melody after the main chorus occurs. These elements created a beautiful beat along with 4Batz’s soulful lyrics. Although he does not say much in the song, 4Batz managed to channel the meaning of the song in just a few words. The song illustrates love, power, safeness, and other positive traits in a healthy relationship.
‘Still Shinin’ was a descent album. Many of the songs portray different meanings and can be viewed in various ways from person to person. 4Batz’s voice, lyrics, and creative beat choices make the album enjoyable to listen to on a daily basis especially with your significant other.
